You said on the way home "I'm so sorry." You said on the way home ("I'm sorry.") "I'm so sorry but this can't work out the way we always planned and I'll never find the route back home again."
We agree on the drive back that this had ran its course, and after all these years it was now time to just let go. We agree on the drive back that this had ran its course, and after all these years it was now time to just let go.
This is the circus, we're all trying not to go home, but this is the circus.

Snow

I walk the same streets I did as a child, they look the same but I felt safer then.
I walked past the garage where I learned to play. The man across the street, well he's still shouting at kids. I guess there's some things that never change, I hope they never will.
I walk the same streets I did as a child, they look the same but I felt safer when I thought that nothing could ever go wrong. I was naive back then.
I walked past your house the other day, just hoping to feel something from it, but you don't live there anymore. This is the worst idea that I have had all year.
Then the snow began to fall and I began to run.
I walk the same streets I did as a child.

Birthday

"Wake up son, I've got some bad news but Happy Birthday all the same." As his words echoed round, I lost the tongue in my mouth. It always rains this side of the Forth.
We sat in your room and shuffled our shoes, no-one could speak to break the silence. As our thoughts echo round the walls in your house, it's never seemed so empty before.
I don't know what the weather is like where you are now.
"Wake up son, I've got some bad news but Happy Birthday all the same."
